“Ignoring it” is Not a Rehab Strategy for Old Injuries

I know, I know. You’re too busy to deal with an old injury. It doesn’t bother you that often nor does it impede your ability to do what you want that much. You may have even visited a surgeon who recommended physical therapy or surgery or another solution that you’re simply not ready for. Now, consider this.

Has ignoring your old injury helped it heal?

Will continuing to ignore your old injury help you improve your health and fitness as you age?

Now, what are you going to do about it?

The good news is that your options for treating injuries, even those that have been nagging you for years, are not limited to surgery. There are several drug-free, non-invasive treatments that are designed to help the body heal without going under the knife.

Chiropractic Care

Most people associate chiropractic care with back or neck pain. While it is true that chiropractic care can alleviate both of these conditions, it also places the body in the proper position so it can heal more effectively. The nerves that control the arms, hands, legs, and feet all begin in the spine. When the vertebrae are in proper alignment, the nerves that travel from the spine are able to convey messages to the rest of the body unimpeded. Not only does this reduce pain and inflammation in the back and neck, it allows the body to send healing neurological message the way it should.

Injury Rehabilitation

Rehabbing an injury requires a specialist who understands both the way the body works and how it can be transformed. Using electrical stimulation, cryotherapy and whole body vibration as well as exercise counseling, it is possible to bring your body back from injury without surgery. The right combination of therapies at the right time can actually stimulate healing, reduce inflammation and help you feel better than you have in years.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy

If you have never heard of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) you are not alone. Based on the discovery that every one of the 75 million cells in your body work as independent electromagnetic units, Dr. Jerry Tennant has created PEMF to introduce electrical voltage that stimulates healing. The body generally runs at -20 to -25 millivolts. When our voltage drops below -20 millivolts, we become chronically sick. But when we achieve -50 millivolts our bodies begin producing new cells at a rapid rate, thereby healing itself. During a session of PEMF, tens of thousands of volts of electricity are introduced to the body in pulses a billionth of a second long. This voltage recharges the cells and promotes healing of both tissue and bones while reducing inflammation and alleviating pain.

Ignoring old injuries will never bring you closer to recapturing your glory days as an athlete. Rather than accepting the status quo, now is the time to explore alternatives to surgery that will help you rehab that nagging problem and get you back on your feet.
